Janusz Korzack was born in Poland on July 22, 1878. He died at Treblinka, 1942.
He was a doctor, children's writer and educator.
In 1912 Korczak became the director of a Jewish orphanage in Warsaw.
He went with his children to Treblinka, an extermination camp. At the Treblinka memorial he is the only person to have a stone with their own name on it.
